Transferring a domain to HostNil is a very easy process. The domain transfer process differs slightly depending on the domain extension (e.g., .com, .net, .uk, .ae) because different registry organizations handle them. In the main there are two main processes:

- Unlock the Domain with your current provider.
- Obtain your current provider’s EPP key (sometimes called an authorization code).
Domain Unlock: This can be done from the Domain Control Panel or contact your domain provider.
Epp Code: You can access the domain control panel through the registrar. Alternatively, you can contact the Domain provider company by sending a support ticket, which the registrar company will send you.

If you are new to HostNil, select the “Create a New Account” option and enter your name, address, and phone number. Select your payment method. Complete the order by clicking on Terms and Service.
You will see the payment button. Click and pay. Shortly after payment, the Domain will be active in the transfer process.
- After a domain transfer, the Domain’s validity will be extended by one year. That is, if your Domain is valid for three months, then if you transfer the Domain, the validity will be one year and three months.
- Domain transfers take 5-7 days. During these days, you cannot control them, and even nameservers cannot be changed.
- Make sure this Domain is not registered within the last 60 days.
